The Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation Research Center of Urmia University of Medical Sciences began its activities in 2009. This center functions as a scientific and research institution focused on the diagnosis, treatment, control, and follow-up of diseases of the renal, urinary, and genitourinary systems, and conducts research activities in these fields. The main mission of the center is to achieve higher scientific excellence and to take effective steps in line with the country’s scientific advancements, as outlined in the national scientific roadmap developed for the next 20 years.

 

Based on official letter No. 28/4781/A dated February 7, 2009, issued by the Council for the Expansion of Medical Universities of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, the initial approval for the establishment of the Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation Research Center was granted. Furthermore, according to the resolution issued in the 259th session of the Council for the Expansion of Medical Universities dated April 16, 2017, final approval for the establishment of the center was obtained.
