Admission Process for International Ph.D. by Research Applicants Simplified
The Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Medical Sciences Planning has announced the issuance of a new resolution adopted during the 11th meeting of the National Commission for the Development, Evaluation, and Accreditation of International Education. The resolution aims to facilitate the admission process for international (non-Iranian) applicants seeking enrollment in Research-Based Ph.D. programs, in line with the country's current circumstances.
According to the resolution, universities are authorized to admit one international student for each approved capacity in every research-based Ph.D. program. International applicants will be required to have at least one article indexed in Web of Science (WoS), PubMed, or Scopus, in addition to successfully passing a scientific and research interview.
The directive also states that international applicants are exempt from taking the centralized Ph.D. entrance examination administered by the Medical Education Assessment Center. Furthermore, both original research articles and review articles will be accepted as eligible scientific publications during the admission process.
