The visit of the high-ranking board of UMSU to the educational and treatment centers of the Kurdistan region of Iraq
with a purpose Of expanding the joint cooperation of Urmia University of Medical Sciences in the field of health with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and implementing the draft of the joint cooperation agreement between the West Azerbaijan Governorate and this region in the field of health, Dr. Vali Zadeh, President of UMSU, along with a group of senior university officials, visited the educational and treatment centers of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, they also signed cooperation agreements with some of the educational and treatment centers.
On the first day of this trip, a meeting was held at the Iranian Consulate in Erbil with the attendance of the delegation of UMSU and Dr. Rashnoudi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, with the topic of policy-making and advancing organizational goals, including: health tourism in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Discussion on the capacities of West Azerbaijan province of Iran and Erbil, Iraq in the field of health tourism and also attracting students from Iraq, especially the Kurdistan Region, were among the topics discussed in this meeting.
Meeting and discussing with Dr. Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, a meeting with health tourism activists in Erbil, visiting, discussing and signing cooperation agreements with Tishk and Hawler Universities in Erbil and Mustaqbal University in Iraq, and visiting Rizgari Hospital as the comprehensive teaching and treatment hospital of Erbil province were among the other programs of this trip.
It is worth noting that this trip took place from July 26 to 29 ,2023, and Dr. Hosseinpour, Senior Advisor to the President of the University, Dr. Bidel Nikoo, Head of the University Presidency Office, Dr. Mahmoodlou, Vice Chancellor of Education, Dr. Masoudi, Vice Chancellor of Treatment, and Dr. Feraydouni, Director of International Relations of Urmia University of Medical Sciences accompanied the President of the University on this trip.
